The romance between Deku and Ochako seems to be getting closer to being confirmed

Although the My Hero Academia manga doesn’t essentially focus on being a story of romance and love, but rather on the whole internal conflict in the hero society and the dilemma between good and evil, we can’t deny that Kohei Horikoshi has taken the time to slowly develop some romances between the characters. And, logically, one of the most popular has to do with the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya.
It’s important to note that Deku wasn’t characterized by being a protagonist who was focused on finding a partner, as he had many other problems on his mind, but we also got to see him interact with some girls. And, in this sense, Ochako was his perfect partner.
From their first interactions we could see that the girl was interested in the young hero, but she didn’t dare to confess her feelings to him. However, these last chapters of the manga have taken the time to address more about their relationship and confirm this long-awaited romance.
My Hero Academia manga finally confirms the romance most anticipated by fans
This romance has been highly anticipated by fans and seems to be getting closer to being consolidated.
Deku and Ochako’s love story has had several setbacks and has been paused on certain occasions because the plot had to focus on the danger of the villains and All For One’s evil plans to destroy the heroes.
In fact, it had been quite a while since the last time the whole romance between these young people was addressed. But, as we have mentioned, the manga has officially confirmed what we already knew and that is that Ochako is in love with Izuku. And that’s not all, since this confession has happened at a good time.
Previously, in chapter 394 of the My Hero Academia manga, we were able to see the fight between Ochako and Himiko Toga. This was a rather important and personal conflict between the girls to the point that Uraraka ended up telling the villain her life story, so, at a certain point, she started telling her about the moment she fell in love with Deku. This was a clear confirmation for the fans, but not for Izuku.
Izuku and Ochako have had many nice and pleasant interactions that have served to lay the foundation for a beautiful relationship. And, although the series paused these samples, it eventually continued to give us some glimpses, like that time when Uraraka gave an emotional speech to accept Deku, pointing out all his virtues and qualities.
But that’s not all, since during her fight against Himiko Toga, Ochako wanted to stop seeing her as a villain and chose to connect with her through what united them: her love for Deku. This escalated a lot within Toga.
All of this has served to strengthen the foundations of this hypothetical relationship. However, chapter 429 of the My Hero Academia manga has been responsible for making this whole issue official. And it is that after Izuku found Ochako, she tells him how much she suffers from Toga’s end, so she starts to cry. It is here that Deku reminds her of everything she has done for him and, in the end, he confesses that she is his heroine and that he wants to be there for her in the same way that she has been for him. And the girl, although she has gone unnoticed for much of the story, has had great moments, even awakening her quirk.
This whole emotional scene ends before Uraraka could reveal her feelings, but this was unnecessary, as these emotions were felt by both of them, they just hadn’t confirmed it. It may take some time for Ochako to gain the courage to tell him how she feels about him, but at least we’re on the right track.
The romance between Deku and Uraraka seems to be moving forward at this point, as both know what they feel for each other, but they don’t openly acknowledge it. However, fans have had this beautiful moment to confirm that this is something that has been slowly being worked on.
