Moments of fear for security personnel. Here’s what happened
Latina, 2 August 2024 – The State Police of Latina has reported at liberty a man, born in 1961, already known as a subject with police records, who in recent days had threatened supermarket security guards with a knife and a telescopic truncheon.
In particular, the police officers of the Flying Squad, last July 28th, intervened following a report from the operations room at a supermarket in the city capital, where the episode that had occurred to the detriment of the security personnel had been reported.
These had told of having been threatened first with a telescopic stick and then with a knife of the kind commonly used for cutting foodby a man known to them visually as someone who was involved in petty theft.
Subsequent investigations carried out by the officers through the taking of statements and viewing of video surveillance images of the centre, allowed them to identify the person responsible, who in the following days had also returned to the store.
The man was therefore reported to the Judicial Authority for threats and illegal possession of weapons and the adoption of the administrative measures under the jurisdiction of the Police Commissioner foreseen for individuals who express a particular social dangerousness will also be evaluated.
