Notice: Spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine
In just one weekend, Deadpool and Wolverine have already grossed more money than twenty Marvel Studios productions. The film, starring Wade Wilson and Logan, has been a madhouse in terms of action and cameos, with incredible returns of mythical superheroes to the Marvel universe.
One of the most talked about cameos was that of Wesley Snipes como Bladesomething that seemed unlikely given the alleged bad relations between the African-American actor and Ryan Reynolds. However, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snipes reveals that he was not expecting to appear in the film until he saw a text message from Reynolds.
“Over the years we’ve had some very interesting conversations, some very substantive and some not. So I kind of just kind of ignored them, which is fine. I made three movies and I think they turned out pretty well. They weren’t that bad… So we moved on to other things, bigger and better things. I didn’t think it was possible. I didn’t think we would be able to pull it off. I didn’t think Marvel was on it, Disney was on it.”
Snipes said that he initially had no intention of playing a character who hasn’t appeared in 20 years, especially since a reboot of the saga within the MCU had already been announced. However, the call with Reynolds was so fruitful that he ended up accepting the job, something that fans of the show would like to see. Blade We greatly appreciate it.
Snipes was one of the audience’s favorite cameos, but we also enjoyed other great characters like the Gambit by Channing Tatum and the Elektra by Jennifer Garner. Now all that remains is to enjoy all these characters for the last time in a film that aims to make history for the company.
