From the 10th Municipio to Trastevere, the fight against drug dealing continues
Rome, 25 July 2024 – Three people have been arrested by the State Police in the last few hours as they are seriously suspected of the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The police officers of the 10th Lido District of Rome have arrested an 18-year-old Italian seriously suspected of the crime of possession and dealing of narcotics. Specifically, the officers who went to the boy’s home to execute an order for the application of a precautionary measure, surprised him as he grabbed a bag from the bedside table and attempted to head towards the bathroom; at that point the officers stopped him and recovered 13 packages of narcotics of the cooked and raw cocaine type. The personal and home search allowed them to find a total of 2.86 grams of cocaine and 1,375 euros in cash.
The police officers of the Trastevere police station during a service aimed at repressing predatory crimes in Piazza Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli arrested a 40-year-old Italian. The police officers stopped the man while he was driving his car for a check and following a personal search they found 48 doses of cocaine weighing 30 grams.
Finally, the police officers of the III Fidene District arrested a 49-year-old Roman at the Roma Sud toll booths on the A1 motorway. Following an investigative activity, the police officers learned that the man was conducting a narcotics distribution business, transporting them with a car he used, which later turned out to be a rental car. Stopped by the officers, he spontaneously handed over a bag containing 5 kg of drugs and was arrested.
The Judicial Authority, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, subsequently validated the arrests.
For the sake of accuracy, and to protect those under investigation, we remind you that an accusation is not equivalent to a conviction, that evidence is gathered in court and that the Italian judicial system provides for three levels of judgment.
