It was in 2015 when we first got a glimpse of the remains of a colossal battle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Star Wars: The Force Awakens revealed that the Battle of Jakku It had been a tough one, judging by the countless Imperial destroyers that had been shot down in the sands of the desert planet.
Almost a decade has passed and the truth is that, beyond sporadic mentions and appearances such as in Star Wars: Battlefront, Disney has not deigned to show the events of that offensive. Finally, Marvel will be in charge of telling what happened in Rey’s home thanks to the collection Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising.
Under the script of Alex Segura and with a trio of artists such as Leonard Kirk, Stefano Raffaele and Jethro Morales, the line will be the first of three miniseries that will reveal the final moments of the Galactic Civil WarOf course, Luke and Leia will appear in the panels as the main characters, while we will also learn key information about the consequences of the Battle of Endor and what aces the Emperor had up his sleeve in case he was overthrown.
“There are elements within the chaos and destruction of the three miniseries that hint at what comes next,” says editor Mark Paniccia. The impact of the Battle of Jakku is much greater than it might seem, as it was there that Imperial troops took refuge in a last desperate attempt to defend themselves against the Rebellion.
A new issue will be published every two weeks. Star Wars: Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Risingstarting on October 2, 2024 and passing through the 16th, 30th of the same month and November 6 to end.
