One of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated films has finally hit theaters: Deadpool and Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds is back to revitalize a struggling MCU, accompanied by Hugh Jackman, who, after his retirement, has decided to put on his claws again to offer a never-before-seen version of the mutant.
Kevin Feigepresident of Marvel Studios, commented in an interview with the American media Screen Rant that the main difference that we will see in Logan in this film, compared to previous installments, is that he shows his darker side without any kind of reservations.
“On a deeper level, I think he’s said that he’s delving into a darker element of the character that’s not necessarily apparent in the fun sequences that you’ve seen in the trailers. But when you watch the movie, there’s a darkness that always comes with the Wolverine character from the comics that’s touched on in some of the earlier films, but it’s delved into in this one in a way that really takes you to, I think, a special place and showcases that once again. What a spectacular actor.”
Although in the trailers released before the film’s premiere we see a much more talkative Logan, it seems that the film will bring a more introspective version of the mutant, focused on his darkest thoughts, of the one who was once one of the great leaders of the X-Patrol.
Of course, we’ll also see Hugh Jackman cracking a few jokes when he meets up with an old friend or in unexpected situations. However, everything points to his performance being very different from what we’re used to, perhaps more similar to what we saw in Logan. Deadpool and Wolverine is now available in theaters worldwide.
