An eruption of dark plasma on the surface of the Sun, and thus a real solar stormwas detected and imaged last Sunday by the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) of the NASA. And for scientists what they have seen would not represent anything good. In fact, this very solar storm could cause some damage to our Planet, and exactly it could cause many international blackout.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) also raised the alarm last Monday and did not miss the opportunity to confirm what NASA said and to specify, through a press release, that precisely this Plasma emission recorded on the surface of the Sun could cause “power grid fluctuations“.
Here’s what happened
According to the first rumours, the video recorded by NASA that we talked about previously seems to have recorded a dark cloud. A real mass of black smoke, which explodes and shoots the colder-than-average plasma right towards the north, onto the surface of the Sun. This mass of smoke is called “cold solar flare” and over the years it has been the subject of studies and research. From these it would seem to have emerged that such flares could be rich in microwave radiation.
But when could this impact have consequences for our Planet? According to NOAA, the impact of the cold flashes on us could happen by Friday. And consequently lead to to the disruption of radio and satellite communications on EarthGoing into more detail on the issue, we can say that there is a 60% chance of medium-level solar flares and a 15% chance of an X-class flare.
This is to be considered more intense than the previous one and in fact could cause a global radio blackoutIt should be noted that over the last few hours, six different M-class solar flares have caused radio outages internationally.
