Man City are said to have two players in mind as replacements if Ederson leaves. As of now, Ederson is still one of the players who could leave Europe for the Saudi Arabian League.
According to a report from HITC, there is currently no clarity regarding Ederson’s future at the Etihad Stadium. The goalkeeper has been mentioned several times that he could move to the Saudi Arabian League. Al Ittihad is even said to be ready to offer the player a fantastic salary.
Man City is said to be ready to release Ederson. The contract extension of Stefan Ortega – who has been a substitute in recent seasons – is proof of this readiness. The Premier League champions for four consecutive seasons are also confident that they can install Ortega as their main choice.
However, City management remains firm with a price tag of 40 million pounds (838 billion Rupiah) for the 30-year-old player. Previously, Al Ittihad submitted a bid worth 25 million pounds (524 billion Rupiah) which was immediately rejected by the English football giant.
If Ederson leaves, The Cityzens have two goalkeeper names ready to be recruited. They are monitoring the opportunity to bring in Anthony Patterson from Sunderland and James Trafford from Burnley.
City had a buy-back clause in the deal that sold Trafford to the Clarets in mid-2023 and the 21-year-old’s status as an English player could also give them an advantage in their squad planning.
