Danilo Petrucci’s afternoon race in Most lasted just a few meters. On turn 1, the Barni rider was the victim of a contact with Bautista and both ended up on the ground, having to raise the white flag.
Petrux is deeply sorry and he himself explains the dynamics of the accident.
“I’m really angry about Race 2,” he began, “that incident ruined what I think was a great weekend. What happened? Gardner took my foot off in Turn 1, squeezing me to the left and then crushing me against Bautista. I couldn’t really do anything and I’m also really sorry for Alvaro.”
Danilo goes into detail.
“Gardner moved for no reason, going from the right to the left. I tried to pull the bike up and didn’t know which way to go. I certainly didn’t brake too hard or brake late. The problem is that Gardner, for no reason, came towards my trajectory.”
According to Petrucci, however, there is a reason behind that maneuver.
“At Donington I made a decisive entrance without touching him, but he ended up long. Now he always comes looking for me and today’s maneuver is proof of that.”
