FC Barcelona has presented its new home jersey for the 2024/25 season. According to the Catalans, it is inspired by the very first Barça jersey from 1899. This is intended to celebrate the club’s 125th birthday.
The new jersey is half blue and half red, creating a “distinctive, unique and symbolic design that reflects the identity of the team throughout its history,” as Barça explained. The Barça club crest can be found in the middle of the new jersey. The new piece is very reminiscent of the home jersey of the 1998/99 season.
The jersey is worn by both the men’s and women’s teams. The item will initially be available to buy with the Spotify sponsor logo, as in the previous season. A new version will then be available in stores from autumn. Anyone who wants to get a new Barça home jersey will have to pay 99.99 euros for the basic version. If you want a flock, you will have to pay an additional 20 euros. The La Liga logo on the sleeve costs an additional five euros. For the Champions League logo you have to pay 15 euros.
Anyone who wants to secure a jersey with young star Lamine Yamal will have to choose a new jersey number from the new season. The 17-year-old will wear the number 19 in the future – just like he did for the Spanish national team. And just like Lionel Messi wore it in his first three seasons as a Barça professional.
