A few days ago, Nintendo surprised us with a small teaser that showed a strange smiling man named Emio. Since then, speculation has been rife and the community has begun to wonder what it was all about. Now, the mystery has been solved and we already know in which game the strange character will appear.
Discover who Emio is
As you may recall, the trailer the company showed last week showed a man in a trench coat wearing a paper bag on his head and with a smiley face painted on with a marker.
After it was thought that this project was the work of Bloober Team, the mysterious game has been revealed and it was all a marketing campaign to announce the third installment of Famicom Detective Club.

As you may have noticed, the game in question is Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, a game that will invite you to investigate further about this strange smiling man and his dark intentions.
It is worth mentioning that this installment will be the third in the saga and will arrive a few years after the Nintendo Switch received the remakes of the first 2: Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind.
What will Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club be about?
The game, which has been rated for adults, will take you to the moment in which a violent murder is being investigated and its connection to an urban legend. You will have to take on the role of an assistant detective who will have to get involved in a series of unsolved murders from 18 years ago.
You’ll have to embark on a journey to chase down a potential serial killer who puts paper bags with smiley faces on his victims’ heads and do everything possible to stop him before he commits another crime.
Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on August 29th.
