At the beginning of the week, the “Baschi Verdi” of the Pronto Impiego Group of Turin discovered a warehouse of counterfeit motorcycles in the province of Pavia. Inside the company there were something like over 1,300 motorcycles ready to be sold on the Italian market. In addition to the motorcycles, there were almost 13 thousand spare parts, also counterfeit. We are talking about motorcycles with the symbol of the Italian flag, but obviously produced and imported from China.
The total of the seizure was estimated at 14 million euros. Staggering figures, and big trouble for the Chinese entrepreneur. The latter will have to answer for alleged crimes of fraud in trade and sale of industrial products with false markings. After all, we are talking about a violation of the specific sector regulations to protect Made in Italy. An operation that was successful and the result of weeks of work.
Coordinated by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation began when the Guardia di Finanza was monitoring the economic developments of the territory some time ago. “By reconstructing the distribution chain – explains the press release from the Turin Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza – the military identified a warehouse in the province of Pavia, managed by a Chinese entrepreneur, inside which over 1,300 motorcycles and approximately 13,000 spare parts ready to be marketed with the symbol of the Italian flag were found, seized by the Fiamme Gialle”.
