Razgatlioglu beats Bulega and wins with ease. First Yamaha podium for Rea. Redding wins the spectacular fight for fourth place. Sixth a tough Bautista, eighth Locatelli

Toprak Razgatlioglu also wins the Superpole Race at Donington Park. The Turk initially let Nicolò Bulega vent, the only one able to keep up with him for a few laps, but during the third lap he overtook the Ducati rookie and the race was over. With the track clear in front of him, the BMW talent began to lap at crazy times, so much so that on the fourth lap he set the new record lap of the English track: 1’25”733. Bulega easily maintained second position, but was never able to get close to the number 54.
Third place and first Yamaha podium for an emotional Jonathan Rea. Thanks to a rocket start from eighth on the grid, the six-time world champion immediately moved into fourth place, battling Sam Lowes, but overtook him before the end of the first lap, before controlling the race and finally climbing onto the podium.
It hasn’t happened since October 2023 (Jerez Race 2). With the first three positions well defined, the race was lived on the fight for fourth place, which did not spare overtaking, braking and various contacts. In the end, Scott Redding prevailed, preceding the usual constant Alex Lowes and a tenacious Alvaro Bautista, who fought like a rookie especially to gain a good position on the grid for Race 2. Behind the Spaniard was Andrea Locatelli, who ruined his race with a mistake on the fifth lap.
Sam Lowes finished the race (and this is already news) in eighth place, ahead of Danilo Petrucci who, starting from the fifth row, could not do better in just ten laps. The same goes for Andrea Iannone who finished tenth, behind the Barni Spark Racing Team rider. Disappointing were Michael Van der Mark in twelfth and Michael Ruben Rinaldi only sixteenth. A slip during the second lap forced Axel Bassani to retire.
