When you think of a destination for your motorcycle holiday, you probably don’t immediately think of Morocco, but it is still a special and beautiful country to discover by motorcycle. We are going to meet the Arabian adventure!
Our plan is simple: fly to Malaga, pick up the rental motorbikes there and then quickly continue to the actual destination: Morocco. On the first day, that plan largely goes awry. A heavy storm is raging in the Strait of Gibraltar and almost all ferry connections have been cancelled. Eventually, we still find a place on board a ship, which however leaves in the afternoon instead of the morning.
The one-hour crossing is then followed by another 2.5 hours of struggling with all sorts of paperwork at the border crossing. Small beer, because we are finally in Morocco, a trip I have been looking forward to for a long time. In my mind a country of sun and warmth, in reality it is dark and raining. When I brake at one point, the ABS immediately starts rattling, it is so slippery. It is already late in the evening when we finally check in at our hotel. Dead tired we fall into bed, hoping that tomorrow will be a bit smoother.
So the trip starts off a bit rough, but whether the rest of the holiday will go smoothly can be read in MotoPlus 14/2024!
