Last weekend, Javier Milei came to escape work at a conference of scammers in Santa Catarina, Cpac Brasil.
In his speech, the Argentine president declared that socialism is a philosophy based on envy and resentment. He said this to people like Congressman Mário Frias, Jair Bolsonaro’s former Minister of Culture, a failed actor who always envied talented people; to followers of Olavo de Carvalho, whose life was a long episode of crying because professional philosophers did not recognize him as one of their own; to disciples of Paulo Guedes, haunted by resentment towards economists from PUC-RJ who actually managed to implement a successful economic plan. During the breaks in the speech, Bolsonaro supporters chanted against the guy who beat them in the last election and against the judge who did not let them remain in power after they had fewer votes than the same guy.
In short, every populist needs an elite against which the honest people must rise up. Since the far right sucks up to all real elites, it needs to invent imaginary elites, formed by, I don’t know, Globo actors, humanities teachers, or quota students.
During the event, Milei received the “triple i” medal from Bolsonaro: “immortality, unbreakable and inedible”. She was missing “ineligible”. To explain what “inedible” meant, Eduardo Bolsonaro turned his butt towards the president of Argentina.
Even Milei seemed embarrassed, and that’s saying something. We’re talking about a politician who went on Argentine TV shows to say that he was successful in orgies because he had mastered the technique of reaching orgasm without ejaculating.
No, it’s not the kind of thing I want to hear from politicians. But let’s be honest, if someone had taught Jair the procedure, the Chamber of Deputies, the Federal Senate and the City Council of Rio de Janeiro would have been a little better in recent years.
Governor Tarcísio de Freitas was asked to list the achievements of the Bolsonaro government. In the absence of real examples, he mentioned the transposition of the São Francisco River, carried out by Lula (and his then minister Ciro Gomes), and Pix, created by employees of the Central Bank.
Tarcísio could take advantage and suggest to those present that they learn how to use Pix: the Bolsonaro family, in particular, seems to have a strong preference for buying properties in cash. For some reason, Bolsonaro’s emissaries who sold the Saudi jewelry in the United States also tried to avoid the banking system.
If you are interested in Cpac Brasil, I suggest you watch the video of the November 30, 2022 meeting at the National Congress in which the same pro-Bolsonaro deputies who spoke in Santa Catarina openly called for a coup. In the audience, there were truck drivers who closed roads calling for a coup, leaders of those camped in front of the barracks, and one of the terrorists who tried to blow up Brasília airport on Christmas Eve 2022.
CPAC Brazil was just that, a reunion of the class of the failed coup of 2022. It was a reminder of how these people remain free, free to plan the next coup, while voting badly on serious matters in the National Congress. A shame for Brazil and Argentina.
