Good news for all retro game lovers, as it was recently confirmed at Anime Expo 2024 that WayForward will be partnering with Limited Run Games to release a port of Sigma Star Saga, the classic Game Boy Advance game.
The new version of the game will also be coming to GBA
If you haven’t heard of this title, let us tell you that it was originally released in 2005 for Nintendo’s popular handheld console and offered a role-playing game that remains very well remembered to this day.
Now, those in charge are working on a port for current consoles that will use the Carbon Engine, a development tool that allows old content to be transferred to modern platforms.
Here you can see the moment when the port was presented:

Sigma Star Saga tells the story of Ian Recker, a decorated pilot working undercover to investigate the enemy species known as the Krill, who attacked Earth by opening a large hole beneath the Atlantic Ocean, causing the oceans to boil and nearly destroying all life on the planet.
It is worth mentioning that WayForward did not specify the platforms on which the installment will be released, so they only mentioned that it will be available soon on “modern consoles.”
The good news is that it has been confirmed that the game will also be re-released on Game Boy Advance. We’ll keep an eye out for when this version of Sigma Star Saga will be released and what new platforms are being considered for its development.
