Ostia, July 7 – Seven people have been arrested by the State Police as they are seriously suspected of the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
In recent days, the police officers of the 10th District of Lido di Roma, while passing through the Ostia Ponente area, noticed a car with two boys on board, one of whom was already known to the police. After careful shadowingthe officers decided to pull alongside the car to carry out a check. The two boys, upon seeing the police, suddenly accelerated to elude the check, giving rise to a daring chase. During the chase, the young driver of the car was forced to pull over and stop, but continued to flee on foot along the seafront. The investigators managed to block the two and proceeded with the identification and subsequent personal and passenger compartment search. The 20-year-old, of Romanian origin, was found in possession of approximately 3 grams of hashish, hidden under the front seat. The search was then extended to the home where they found 13 blocks of the same substance, for a total of 1.3kg, hidden in a plastic bag on the bedroom terrace: the young man was arrested.
The Policemen of the 10th District of Lido di Roma have also arrested a 46 year old Italian woman: following a thorough investigation, they noticed suspicious movements near a house in Ostia Lido and, during the stakeout, they saw a woman come out and then get into a car and drive away towards the sea. The investigators followed the woman and they noticed some people approaching the 46-year-old’s car; at this point they intervened by checking those present. The woman, visibly agitated, was found in possession of several grams of hashish. The search was then extended to her home where approximately 126 grams of the same substance and material useful for packaging the doses were found.
The officers of the IX Esposizione District, during an observation service in one of the drug dealing areas in the Santa Palomba area, noticed two people standing in front of the entrance of a building while they were waiting for a man to give them a bag in exchange for some banknotes. The police officers decided to intervene to stop and check the two Sinti, who turned out to be father and son respectively. During the search of theApproximately 61 grams of drugs, including cocaine and hashish, were found in the apartment used by the twohidden inside a shoe placed on the outside windowsill of the bedroom, 685 euros divided into banknotes of different denominations and material useful for the packaging and sale of narcotics. The 45-year-old and the 26-year-old were then arrested.
The investigators of the Porta Pia Police Station, while driving along Via Tiburtina, stopped a man, already known to the Police, on board his car: the 72-year-old Italian, agitated and uncooperative, was found in possession of a plastic bag containing 14 packages of cocaine, which he was hiding in his underwear and another 22 packages inside the gearbox. The search was then extended to the home, where 255 grams of the narcotic substance were found between crack and cocaine, hidden mainly in the base of an iron piece of furniture in the bedroom that can be opened with a handcrafted T-key; the sum of 70 euros in cash and packaging material for the doses. At the end of the ritual acts, the man was arrested.
Finally, the agents of the Appio Nuovo Police Station, during an information-investigative activity, became aware of a “home” drug dealing activity: a 53-year-old Italian man delivered narcotics directly to the homes of customers and then returned to stock up and leave the profits from the sales at the home of a 44 year old Italianwho acted as the custodian of the drugs. The two, after being observed by the police for some time, were stopped. A house search was then carried out, where approximately 160 grams of cocaine and crack were found, the sum of 2,520 euros, divided into banknotes of different denominations, and material for packaging and selling the drugs, all hidden inside a piece of furniture in the living room. The two men were then arrested.
The Judicial Authority, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, subsequently validated the arrests.
