Aurèle Amenda was officially signed by Eintracht Frankfurt last winter, but was then loaned back to Young Boys Bern for the second half of the season. That’s why he is only now, in the summer and for pre-season, actually moving to the Main.
Due to a tendon injury in the back of his thigh, as his injury was diagnosed shortly before the end of the season, SGE had already prepared for a delayed start for Amenda. However, it seems that his new team will not have to wait as long for him as was sometimes feared.
Compared to the Bild Amenda now gave a surprisingly positive report on his current situation. “I’m feeling much better at the moment. I can already do a lot of things in rehab and have even trained a little with the ball again,” said the central defender, pleased and optimistic.
His current goal: Amenda wants to be fit enough to be able to fly to the USA with his new teammates in the middle of the month to prepare. “That’s the goal I’m working towards. That I can soon be part of team training and the training camp,” explained the 20-year-old Swiss. “I completely trust the rehab staff here when it comes to the schedule and I have to give my body the time it needs to get back to 100 percent.”
