Gaeta, 1 July 2024 – The Figaro 3 boats of the Guardia di Finanza have arrived in Gaeta and took part in the fourth edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the Corps. This stage is particularly significant for the city’s historic bond with the Guardia di Finanza, of which the presence of the Nautical School since 1948 is an expression.
Accompanying the regatta in Gaeta is the traveling village for all sailing enthusiasts, tour athletes and citizens. A place full of opportunities to develop synergies between all participants and effectively promote sport, culture, science, technology, solidarity and respect for the environment.
The Guardia di Finanza, in addition to the Waszp and Wingfoil, participates with Figaro 3, one of the ten boats made available by the organization for the competitors. Modern and innovative, 10 meters long and equipped with foils, this boat is built for a crew of two. She is fast, easy to steer and ideal for this type of racing. The Figaro 3 has been personalized with the winged Griffin (symbol of the Corps) printed on the hull and sails, together with the logo created to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Guardia di Finanza and that of the Fiamme Gialle Sports Groups. In addition to the Figaro 3 category, which sees the 09 Deas team in command, followed by the 08 team of the Sanremo Yacht Club and the 03 team of the Guardia di Finanza, the fourth stage of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour will also see the competition of boats from the Waszp categories and Wingfoil.
At the end of the sporting event, Major General Mariano La Malfa, Deputy Chief of Staff of the General Command and President of the Committee for the 250th Anniversary of the foundation of the Corps, presented the Grifone Award to the Guardia di Finanza team which stood out for his commitment and professionalism. Among the winners: the financiers Paolo Cian and Fabio Montefusco. The Award is a symbol of value and dedication and represents a prestigious recognition for the men and women of the Corps who work every day with determination and competence at the service of the Institutions.
