Many reports from citizens: waste and the carcasses of cars that caught fire are still present in the area
Ardea, 26 June 2024 – A land of fires: this is what remained in place of flames broke out in recent days in Salzare (read here). In the vast fire, brushwood and the illegal landfill that has been in that area for some time went up in flames. After almost a week since the fire, in fact, it has burned harmful toxic material, there are still acrid fumes escaping from the earth.
It is no coincidence that all around the acrid smell that affects the throat and eyes when approaching the smoke stacks is causing many disturbances: the son of a farmer in the area has suffered intoxication following the fires and smoke inhaled during the fire to save the animals and the harvest partly damaged by fire. The man was declared out of danger.
This morning some citizens who live in that valley, but above all some farmers, called the press to get the situation back on track and bring it to the attention of the competent authorities. From the surrounding hamlets and districts of the Municipality of Ardea there have been many reports of toxic fumes still emanating from the ground To date, no cleanup has started yet, and there are still some people on site waste and the carcasses of cars that caught fire. Furthermore, there is still no night control at the entrance to the Salzare territory.
Once again operations carried out they did not give the result hoped for by the citizens. The cameras and military checkpoints as it was for Marcianise, the famous land of fires, of which Ardea seems to be second to none. The hope of the citizens that once again the broadcast “Fuori dal Coro” will resume showing the disinterest in the territory of Ardea. A territory that is increasingly no man’s land.
