Rome, 21 June 2024 – From 22 to 24 June the Guardia di Finanza meets the community to celebrate 250 years since its foundation, with a great event, organized in the heart of Rome. Three days of initiatives that will be held between Piazza del Popolo and the Pincio terrace, where two “villages” will be set up, open to all, from 10:00 to 22:00.
Sport and entertainment will be the protagonists: the panoramic location of the Pincio will host the stands of the many specialties of the Fiamme Gialle sports groups. The yellow-green athletes will be available to those who want to try their hand at sporting disciplines, from shooting to karate, from skateboarding to fencing, from sailing to climbing.
Between history and testimonies
The installations present in the evocative setting offered by Piazza del Popolo, they will offer visitors the opportunity to retrace the most significant moments in the history of the Institutionrepresented by large installations depicting three-dimensional dates, and to discover, through futuristic modes of interaction, the sectors and tasks of the Gdf articulated according to a fascinating immersive journey between the “thematic areas”.
The Village will tell the Financial Police through the testimonies of its soldiers, in the video reproduction of images of operations carried out daily in the various areas of competence, from protecting the economy, to fighting crime, to rescue; will showcase the data, knowledge and technologies that underpin the Corps’ success.
It will be, among others, an opportunity not only to admire the VAI 300 Hybrid boat model and the Leonardo AW139 helicopter up close, but thanks to the augmented reality simulators the most enterprising will live the exciting experience of feeling like pilots of the aircraft and naval equipment, from patrol boats and fast patrol boats to aircraft.
A celebration of entertainment, sport and music, to pay homage to the past and look to the future which will culminate in the military ceremony to be held, in the presence of the President of the Republic, on 24 June at 6.30pm in Piazza di Siena.
