“When we talk about nutrition we talk about fats, carbohydrates and other things, but the founding bricks of our life, of our body, are proteins. Proteins that can have animal or vegetable origin. The Mediterranean diet has been based for centuries on alternation, on a virtuous mix of proteins of different origins. Even if as Italians we are proud of the Mediterranean diet, in reality the data proves us wrong because those who follow it are largely under 20%”. during the presentation of the volume “Proteins in the Mediterranean diet”, held in Rome in the Chamber of Parliamentary Groups of the Chamber of Deputies, an initiative promoted by the Istituto Danone Foundation.
