Official: Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales in KTM
The MotoGP rider market is heating up. After the announcement of Marc Marquez in the official Ducati and Jorge Martin in Aprilia, KTM announced a dream double coup, hiring both Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales, forming a fairytale poker of aces with Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder .
“A strong line-up and a renewed color scheme will characterize a new era for KTM in MotoGP from 2025. The Red Bull KTM Tech3 team will complement the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team with two stellar and winning names: Enea Bastianini and Maverick Viñales. The Italian, 26 years old, born in Rimini, and the Spaniard, 29 years old from Roses, will have two full-factory KTM RC16s at their disposal from 2025 as foreseen by the multi-year agreement and will complete the KTM quartet with stars Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta in the adjacent box. Bastianini is known for his natural ability and excellence in maximizing his technical “package” over the entire race distance: the “Beast” will be a formidable asset for the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team. Vinales brings experience and exceptional talent to the team, he was KTM’s second Moto3 world champion in 2013. Maverick’s great feeling, pace and physical form make him one of the leading names on the MotoGP grid” this is the press release issued by the Austrian team.
“We are pleased to announce that Enea and Maverick will be with us next year. We will also return to the KTM brand. Our first MotoGP™ victories came in orange, we can’t forget that! The choice of these two talented riders, who have decided to race with our bikes, makes us proud. It means we are on the right path and that our technology can fight to stay ahead. We would like to thank Pierer Mobility AG for the quality of its support. Our collaboration has reached its highest level this year. And I’m sure it will continue to grow. Thanks also to Red Bull for its support of the project. We want to win: this is why Enea and Maverick decided to join us” this is the comment of team manager Nicolas Goyon.
“We are very happy to have brought both Enea and Maverick into our MotoGP™ project. They have our full support, with the support of the entire brand to continue pursuing their goals of achieving peak performance. We are talking about two of the fastest riders in the world right now. We are flattered to have their trust. The operation we have created together with Red Bull KTM Tech3 is top notch. The choice of the team name reflects the intention to return to strengthening the KTM brand. There couldn’t have been a better option to give value to the company than dressing Enea and Maverick in orange together with Red Bull. Now let’s think about continuing in 2024. Then we will focus on this new beginning” these are the declarations of KTM director Pit Bierer.
