The patrols on duty also blocked two other boys who were trying to climb the monument
Rome, 9 June 2024 – As part of the checks carried out in the areas of greatest tourist interest to protect the historical and artistic heritage of the Capital, the agents of the 1st Historic Center Group, between midnight and 2am this night, they had to intervene several times against several people intent on entering the Trevi Fountain. The responsibles, 4 tourists of foreign nationality and aged between 25 and 31, were immediately intercepted by the officers and blocked: each was fined 450 euros, as established by the Urban Police Regulations. Also during the night just gone by, patrols on surveillance duty in the Piazza di Trevi area blocked two other Italian boys, this time for trying to climb the monument. Again, both, a man and a woman, were sanctioned for a total sum of 500 euros.
For the record, and for the protection of those under investigation, we remind you that an accusation is not equivalent to a conviction, that the evidence is gathered in court and that the Italian judicial system still provides for three levels of judgment
