Marc Marquez in rosso
The torment over who would be Francesco Bagnaia's teammate had already ended on Monday with the announcement of Jorge Martin's move to Aprilia, a move that paved the way for Marc Marquez.
Today the official investiture arrived from Borgo Panigale: in 2025 the Spaniard will be part of the official Ducati team alongside Francesco Bagnaia with the aim of winning his ninth world title at 32 years old, in the meantime Marc will try to find victory with the Desmosedici GP23 of the Gresini team with which in recent months he has quickly rediscovered the competitiveness lost with Honda.
“Grateful for Ducati's trust”
Marc Márquez therefore got what he wanted and can only be satisfied: “I am very happy to be able to wear the red color of the official Ducati team in MotoGP next season. Practically from the first contact with the Desmosedici GP I enjoyed riding it and I immediately adapted well. From that moment I understood that my goal was to continue on this path, continue to grow and join the team where Pecco Bagnaia became World Champion for two years in a row. I am truly happy to be able to take this big step starting from 2025 and grateful for the trust that Ducati has placed in me. Finally, I want to thank Nadia, Carlo, Michele and the whole Gresini Racing family for opening the door to their team for me at a delicate moment in my career. Now we will continue to have fun and give our best in what remains of the current season, which is my priority at the moment.”
“Marc Marquez an indisputable talent”
Among the Spaniard's major sponsors was undoubtedly Luigi Dall'Igna, General Director of Ducati Corse: “First of all, I want to thank both Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martín for all the work done with us in recent years and I wish them better for the future. This season they are truly showing that they have reached an incredible level and we are sure that they will fight for the world title until the end. Deciding on Bagnaia's new teammate in the Ducati Lenovo Team was not easy as we had a list of really strong riders to choose from. Finally, our choice fell on an indisputable talent like Marc Márquez. In just a few races, he has managed to adapt perfectly to our Desmosedici GP and his innate ambition pushes him to continually grow. In the garage we will have two drivers who together have achieved 11 world titles and being able to count on their experience and maturity will also be invaluable for our growth.”
