To clean the chrome and eliminate any oxide that has formed, we have given you our advice but it may not be enough to bring it back to its former glory. To obtain maximum results, it is best to subject them to a polishing and smoothing treatment that you can do yourself.
We start with microfiber and polisher
First of all, you need to smooth the entire surface with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, applying light pressure and making circular movements; using the rag with horizontal and vertical movements would easily leave visible marks, which a circular action instead hides.

It is important to make rotational movements to eliminate the opacity
By doing so, all traces of water, dust and dirt are removed. For a more in-depth treatment you can also use an electric polisher (DIY models cost around 50 euros) equipped with a specific pad for chrome, dry and clean.

Then oil or wax

Once the surfaces are clean, the operations to make them shine begin. To obtain this result it is necessary to apply a layer of baby oil on top, i.e. pharmaceutical-grade mineral oil (for example Johnson's baby oil) which is also able to make the surfaces shine, makes them more homogeneous to the eye and enhances them. the shine. You need to deposit a few drops of oil, one every 5 cm, and distribute it by rubbing the area with a clean, dry cloth, always using circular movements and applying light pressure. Once this is done, wipe everything over with another clean rag to remove excess oil and at this point the chrome should shine like a mirror. Alternatively, it is possible to use one of those waxes that are used for car bodywork, carnauba wax or specific polishes for cars. It will cost a little more but even in this case the excellent result is guaranteed.
