Minturno, 31 May 2024 – The Carabinieri of Scauri di Minturno (LT) with the technical and specialized support of personnel from the municipal police and the technical office of the municipality of Minturno and inspectors from the prevention department of the sp and sal service of the Latina ASL they did a meticulous check at a construction site located in Marina di Minturno.
Once on site, the inspection immediately raised some critical elements which concerned multiple aspects regulated by the Legislative Decree. 81/08, regarding the protection of health and safety in the workplace. Specifically, they immediately arose serious shortcomings from the point of view of the obligations regarding safety in the workplace and the safety of the scaffolding in use, arrangement of the external construction site area, professional training for the safety manager and failure to comply with the imposed requirements. They were therefore elevated 6 administrative sanctions equal to €6,000.00, which if not paid will result in the owner of the entrusted company who was carrying out the work at that time being released into a state of freedom.
The check also made it possible to ascertain the presence of a worker not in compliance with the employment contract, the man born in 78 from Villaricca (NA) was thus heard by those present and therefore contested the further violation pursuant to art. 3 of Legislative Decree 02.22.2022 and contested no. 12 violations of Legislative Decree 151/2015.
Precisely in relation to the precariousness of some scaffolding, which did not reflect any safety measures in relation to the risk of accidents and injuries at work, they were seized with a ban on their use. In addition to guarantee the protection of workers' health, these activities highlight the attention of the Carabinieri on the issues of exploitation of “black” work, going to protect those workers who are very often the object of abuse by construction site managers, generating the phenomenon of capolarato, which in this case has been excluded.
For the record, and for the protection of those under investigation, we would like to remind you that an accusation is not equivalent to a conviction, that the evidence is gathered in court and that the Italian judicial system still provides for three levels of judgement.
