Latina, 27 May 2024 – It was held this morning, the “Solidarity Match” at the Domenico Francioni Stadium in Latinaa sporting event organized by Polsoccer ASD, a team made up of members of the State Police, who played a football match against the employees of the municipal administration of Latina.
The initiative, organised in favor of the SOS Children's Village association and with the beneficial aim of contributing to the aims of the association itself, saw the participation of numerous students from the Pontine area, who were able not just enjoy the football spectacle but also to experience first-hand the activities of the special departments of the State Police, who took to the field with the exciting ones performances by the dog department and the Rome bomb squad and with a stand on the activities of the Scientific Police.
In particular, all the spectators present had the opportunity to closely observe the different tasks of the special departments; the dog handlers showed the specific activities carried out in the various sectors of use, from the use of public order, defense and anti-drug dogs, to the use of explosive detection dogs, which operated together with the personnel of the bomb squad of the State Police . Last but not least, the young students who attended were able to observe the forensic activities, with the forensic police personnel of the Rome and Latina police headquarters who illustrated the methods of intervention at the crime scene and the findings that are carried out in the daily service activities. carried out by personnel who intervene in the most disparate operational scenarios.
The meeting, which ended with the result of 5-1 in favor of the employees of the Municipal Administration of Latina, was a way not only to show the young students the activities of the State Police, but also and above all to contribute to raise funds for the SOS Children's Village Association, on a symbolic date, May 27, which marks the anniversary of the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and Young People.
