Erik ten Hag admits that Manchester United will suffer big losses if they miss European level competition in the 2024/25 season. These comments were made after suffering a 0-1 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford.
“That can be a big loss. This is the situation we are facing at the moment but we still have a chance and must fight to make it a reality, even when we are going through extraordinary problems, everyone understands it, especially from the choice of players to positions and team structure.”
“We must deserve what we want, especially the supporters, who continue to provide support and understand the problems we face. “They supported us from the start of the match, and maintained unity, which is an aspect to be grateful for,” said ten Hag, quoted by The Athletic.
Manchester United is in eighth place in the Premier League standings. If they remain in that position, then they will not take part in European level competitions in the 2024/25 season. The last time this happened was in the 2014/15 season after slumping in the previous season.
Ten Hag's position as coach at Old Trafford continues to come under scrutiny due to this situation. It is said that the Dutch coach could lose his position if MU cannot improve the results they achieved in the remaining Premier League events or beat Man City and become FA Cup champions.
