Mauricio Pochettino praised the fighting spirit of Chelsea players after dramatic win over Nottingham Forest. The match at the City Ground on Saturday (11/5) was won with a score of 3-2 after trailing 1-2.
“We scored a goal and then conceded a goal that shouldn't have happened. Then we experienced difficulties in a match that was a draw. We controlled the flow of the game but they created threats in the transition phase with high-quality players in those conditions.”
“The talent of the players is an important factor in situations like this, as are the players who contribute from the bench. This time we have a complete solution. I am satisfied because the most important thing is to keep fighting and not give up. “The players showed enthusiasm and maturity until the end,” said Pochettino, quoted from the club's official website.
This victory could have a significant impact on Chelsea. The West London team has 57 points from 36 matches. They are in seventh place in the standings with the same points as Newcastle and maintain the opportunity to climb to sixth place.
Despite winning, Pochettino also congratulated Nottingham Forest. The Argentinian coach praised Forest for remaining in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
