Nintendo confirmed its first plans to reveal its next console in the following months and curiously today it also announced changes for the Nintendo Switch that will leave the system without several functions.
Nintendo has just announced a series of changes that will affect the way many users share content from their Nintendo Switch games, with the most important being the suspension of support for Twitter (X).

Thanks to this change, users who have their console linked to Twitter (X) will no longer be able to post screenshots or videos directly to the social platform through the HOME menu.
Something that caught attention is that, although this function will continue to be available for Facebook, Nintendo warned that it could suspend it “in the future.”
Additionally, players will no longer be able to send requests to friends on social media at all from Friend Suggestions on Nintendo Switch. The Friend Suggestions feature will continue to be available on smart devices, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
The change will come into effect on June 10 and will affect all Nintendo Switch models.

This change will also affect the sharing of Splatoon 3 content, as players will no longer be able to post to Facebook or Twitter (X) from the Tintelia mailbox, Cromópolis square or the Cromópolis center, but the data will be sent to the servers from Nintendo, although it was anticipated that those publications made by children under 13 years of age will not be visible.
With Splatoon 2, it will also not be possible to publish on Twitter (X) and both the characters and the messages that appear in the center of Cromopolis “will be replaced by data already prepared within the game software.”
That was not all in terms of content sharing functions of Nintendo Switch, as the Japanese company also reported that it will no longer be possible to share screenshots of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from the Nintendo Switch HOME menu in Smash World (in the application for Nintendo Switch Online mobiles).
In case you missed it: Nintendo Switch 2 would not be released until next year.
