The reality is that there are few villains who can compare to the immeasurable strength of the Hulk. Being able to defeat the Hulk, even if only by imagining him in your dreams, could be a big deal for pretty much anyone who tries. But against all odds, a former member who was part of the Avengers did it almost effortlessly. As Hulk continues his fight after the events that redefined his story in The Immortal Hulk, his journey has taken him to the gates of Strange Academy in Incredible Hulk #12. There, a former Avenger shows his true power to the Hulk, eliminating him in a matter of seconds.
Marvel Comics Reveals That A Member Of The Avengers Can Defeat The Hulk Very Easily
In previous issues of the comic series, you could see how the soul of Hulk's new ally, Charlie, was imprisoned with no way to escape. For this reason, Bruce Banner is forced to embark on a journey with the aim of enlisting the help of Doctor Strange. Arriving there, Doctor Voodoo informs Hulk that Doctor Strange is away. The Hulk becomes enraged, but Doctor Voodoo does not seem to be shaken by the fury and wrath of his adversary. In fact, Doctor Voodoo forces a transformation into the Hulk, causing him to revert to his original form as Bruce Banner.
Although he achieves a true feat within the reach of only a few, this feat should not surprise readers. Like Doctor Doom or Baron Mordo, Doctor Voodoo was an eternal candidate to win the title of Sorcerer Supreme repeatedly. He even held the title for a short period of time. Doctor Voodoo was also among the ranks of the Avengers, both the main team and the Savage Avengers. In recent years, Doctor Voodoo has served as the head director of Strange Academy to guide what will be the next generation of sorcerers in Marvel.
Although Doctor Voodoo may not have the power of Doctor Strange, he has always been one of the smartest magic wielders to be found in Marvel and has a long history of defeating formidable enemies. To give an example, in the comic Uncanny Avengers #29, Doctor Voodoo defeated Juggernaut by giving him more power, which caused his armor to grow to the point that he could not move.
The Hulk came to New Orleans in search of Doctor Strange, but he got more than he bargained for when he had to face Doctor Voodoo. Controlling the situation by encountering an angry Green Giant showed why he is a serious contender for the position of Sorcerer Supreme. Doctor Voodoo was able to take down the Hulk without even breaking a sweat, accomplishing a feat that Doctor Strange has tried to accomplish in the past.
The Incredible Hulk #12 comic is now available.
