Team of young… burned
The typical decision by investors to only spend on athletes who can be resold with a good profit margin in a few seasons has turned Chelsea into a team of young people.
But, with a squad lacking more experienced leaders and clearly unbalanced in terms of age, the “Blues” plummeted in English football. Last season, they failed to qualify for any European competition. And, in the current situation, they may repeat the failure that was unthinkable until recently.
As a result, several of the boys who arrived at Stamford Bridge with the label of potential future football greats were “burned” and will have to rebuild their careers in the coming years, possibly in smaller teams.
And there are also the boys who, due to the swelling of the squad, had to be loaned to Strasbourg, which also belongs to Boehly, to gain experience in France before the Londoners decided what to do with them. Brazilians Andrey Santos (ex-Vasco) and Ângelo Gabriel (ex-Santos) are part of this group.
