Although much is still unknown about the film, the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda is one of the most anticipated productions by Nintendo fans. There are many unknowns about the film that need to be answered, and one of the most intriguing to audiences is whether Link will speak or not.
The movie director, Wes Balladdressed this topic during the premiere of his next film, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, giving an interview to Comicbook, and joked about whether Link will say any words or if he will be “mute” like in the video games.
“A, B, or C. I'll do it like in the game, just little dialogue boxes appear in the movie and you choose which one you want. Link communicates with the villagers throughout the game, but you don't hear his voice.”
The American director joked with the idea of incorporating dialogue that unfolds like in The Legend of Zelda games, allowing Link to communicate with the villagers through gestures, but without saying a single word.
It's evident that the filmmaker was making a joke about this possibility, as implementing this concept in a film would be quite strange. However, regardless of how this aspect is approached, it is clear that The Legend of Zelda It promises to be a unique experience and we hope it lives up to the legendary Nintendo saga.
