He Liverpool have unveiled their new home shirt for the 2024/25 season, paying homage to the iconic one worn in 1984.
In 1984, Liverpool lifted the European Cup under the guidance of iconic manager Joe Fagan, who led the Reds to a famous treble wearing a shirt that has since become a favorite of Liverpool fans across the world. world.
That retro design has returned for the Liverpool 2024/25 kit, which features a unique collar with traditional red and yellow details that pay homage to the famous 1984 design.
Liverpool's home shirt features a yellow pattern on the red base, while there are also yellow and white side panels on both the shirt and shorts. The design also takes inspiration from Rome, the host city of the 1984 European final, with many Italian-inspired techniques used in the promotion of the new kit.
The font of the names and numbers on the back of the shirt is inspired by the city of Liverpool and its historic signs. “I'm a big fan of our new kit for next season and I love the fact that we're bringing back the retro vibe,” said Virgil van Dijk. “We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of the most successful in our history. I am sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”
