Eintracht Frankfurt has only won two of the last eight Bundesliga games. Most recently there was a disappointing 0-0 draw at home against Union Berlin. Things aren't going well for opponents Werder Bremen either. Werderander lost all of their last four games.
Before the game there is good and bad news for Eintracht coach Dino Toppmöller. Hugo Larsson is fit again, but according to Toppmöller he is not an option for the starting eleven. Hugo Etikité, however, will be out. The Frenchman is suffering from problems in the adductor area.
As always, the question arises about a four-man or five-man chain at Eintracht. Against Union, Toppmöller used a 4-3-3. The SGE, who go into the game as favorites, could also start with the more offensive variant against Bremen.
Dino Toppmöller could field these eleven players at the start
Kevin Trapp (TW) – Even if he hasn't always seemed confident in the recent past, the nine-time national player is still in goal for Eintracht.
Night (RV)- The flexible man in Frankfurt's defense. Can play inside and outside. In a back four, Tuta would again take over the right-back position.
Robin Koch (IV) – If the national player is fit, he will play from the start. He was only left out of the first eleven in the Bundesliga three times this season – due to injury and suspension.
Pacho (IV) – The same applies to his partner in central defense. Pacho was only not in the SGE starting line-up once this season.
Niels Nkounkou (LV) – Substituted for Philipp Max at half-time against Union after a poor performance. Nkounkou always has wobbles in his game defensively, but he is stronger offensively than Max. Toppmöller praised the competition between the two on the PK before the game. Nkounkou's offensive qualities will likely be in demand against Bremen.
Ellyes Skhiri (DM) – The Tunisian didn't play his best game against Union Berlin, but his qualities as a clearer are still important when Eintracht plays with one less defender.
Mario Götze (ZM) – Götze has been in the starting line-up three times in a row and is likely to do the same against Werder. As against Union, he will occupy the eighth position.
Donny van de Beek (ZM) – Since Etikité will be out and Larsson is not yet fit enough for the starting eleven, Omar Marmoush will move back into the center of the attack. This could give Donny van de Beek his first start since the game against VfL Wolfsburg on matchday 23. It is also possible that Chaibi will move into the center and Knauff will start in the wing position.
Junior Dinah (RA) – Dina Ebimbe, on the other hand, has been in the starting eleven since the Wolfsburg game. He will probably start again on the right wing position against Werder.
Fares Chaibi (LA) – Ansgar Knauff was allowed to start on the left wing against Union, but was unable to convince. It's quite possible that there will be an exchange. Chaibi is ready. However, the Algier also represents an option in the center of midfield.
Omar Marmoush (ST) – The logical replacement for the injured Ekitiké. He was deployed in midfield against Union, but now he will probably move back into the center of the attack. The Egyptian is Frankfurt's most dangerous attacker. He has already scored ten goals and six assists this Bundesliga season.
