Yet another iteration of the Honda Dax was presented at the Bangkok International Motor Show, decidedly 70ies and unfailingly made by Cub House

Going back in time is one of those things that everyone would like: how exciting it must be to see live the events that we mention in school books today or, to stay within our scope, to get our hands on the motorbikes that our fathers or our grandfathers. Well, in some cases it is possible: one of these opportunities is given by the Honda Dax 125, a midi bike which has its origins in 1969 and which has been revived by Honda almost – I repeat, almost – unchanged since then. The basic concepts of the Dax are in fact stuck before Led Zeppelin IV was published or, if you like, when the Honda CB750 Four phenomenon exploded so well told by our Nico Cereghini in two unmissable videos, in our opinion: one dedicated to the history of the model and the other – reserved for our subscribers with everything you need to know for the restoration of all series.
The Dax continues to be centered around an exposed monocoque frame that doubles as a fuel tank, with a 31mm upside-down fork (100mm travel) and a pair of rear shocks (120mm wheel travel). On the 12-inch rims we find pot-bellied tires (120/70 and 1320/70) and two disc kidneys with single-channel ABS in the dimensions 220 mm front and 190 mm rear. The dimensions are contained: wheelbase of 1,020 mm and saddle just 775 mm high from the ground, while the weight with a full tank of petrol (3.8 litres) is declared as 107 kg.
On this basis Cub House, a division of Honda Thailand that deals with lifestyle through Honda midi bikes, has created the Dax 1978 the Time Traveller, a special set-up which includes special graphics, a special side panel, a chromed rear rack and a mudguard chrome front with set of kitaco reflectors, making it debut at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show. Nothing transcendental, but precisely for this reason the charm of the little 125 remains unchanged and indeed enhanced by this special graphics.
