The organizers of Cpac Brasil, the main annual right-wing conference in the country, announced the city of Balneário Camboriú (SC) as the venue for this year's edition, on July 6th and 7th.
The expectation is that the meeting will be the largest since its beginning in 2019, with an expected audience of 4,000 people.
In addition to being based in a strongly conservative state, it will take place in the wake of recent right-wing victories in several countries and the possible return of Donald Trump to the White House.
“This year the Brazilian edition will be special, because all over the world the right is on the rise. Look at Italy, Portugal and even the good expectations coming from the USA, as well as from Argentina with Milei”, says federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), in a video announcing the event.
The conference is inspired by an event that has taken place in the USA since the 1970s. In Brazil, its main promoter is the Instituto Conservador-Liberal (ICL), chaired by Eduardo.
The full list of participants has not yet been released. One of the names to be invited is the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who participated in last year's edition, in Belo Horizonte, before being elected.
