The screen that appears in the messenger when making a call with another contact now brings new information about the type of call, for example, highlighting that it is an end-to-end encrypted call.
There's also a new button at the top right of the interface to quickly add new people to the call. These are features that WhatsApp worked on to provide a better user experience when using the app.

“Back” button should be replaced by “Minimize” button in calls
Another feature that was noticed is that WhatsApp is replacing the “Back” shortcut with a new “Minimize” button, improving navigation during calls and the intuitiveness of the feature. The two buttons will have strictly the same function: leaving the call screen without closing it. However, the Minimize button offers a more intuitive solution. The change comes to clarify a confusion that commonly occurred among users, who imagined that the “Back” button ended the call, which was not its function. When switching to the “Minimize” button ”, WhatsApp alleviates this confusion by providing users with a clear way to exit the call screen without ending the ongoing call.
The change is welcome and demonstrates another good idea from the company in relation to solving and improving the experience of its users.
The improved call screen interface is available to some users beta testing the app with the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android on the Google Play Store. However, it will be rolled out to even more people in the coming weeks.
