Some screenshots and the map of what could be The Sims 5, known internally at Maxis as Project Rene, have been leaked.
It's no secret that Maxis, the developer specializing in simulations and management games, is working on a new The Sims title. Since February of last year, a few details and screenshots of what appears to be Project Rene have been leaked.
EA has not revealed a trailer for The Sims 5. However, the evidence is evident, and even the vice president of the franchise has recognized its ''existence''.
After reigning in the life simulation genre with The Sims 4 (which continues to receive updates and expansions), it is time to think about a fifth installment for PC, consoles and mobile phones.
Maxis' idea with The Sims 5 (Project Rene) is to offer a free to play game, that works in the long term, with abundant expansions and paid DLC.
In addition, this fifth part will have an important multiplayer factor. The vice president of The Sims, Lindsay Pearson, acknowledges that They are being inspired by Among Us and Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Although we still do not have official information about The Sims 5, new aspects of the life simulator have been leaked, whose preliminary version has been developed on PC and mobile phones.
The supposed map of The Sims 5
Project Rene is the confirmation of a bet, which began with the conversion of The Sims 4 to free to play. It was a great success by Maxis, and it is even rumored that a version for the hybrid console could be available.
Going back to The Sims 5, Reddit user DzXAnt22 has shared a few images that appear to be from a preliminary version of the life simulator.
Obviously, there is no official confirmation. However, this is not the first time we have seen images of this internal build, which is in development for PC and Android devices.
To begin with, it has been leaked the supposed complete map of Project Reneas well as three images (similar to each other) showing the streets of the city.
The images are not impressive on a technical level, but the explanation is simple: They belong to a pre-alpha of this new Sims game.
As for the map, we can see a river at the bottom, separating the large upper area from the rest. It seems that it will be larger and allow more freedom to the player than in The Sims 4.
The bad news is that EA goes to use Denuvoanti-piracy technology, to protect the game and its expansions/DLC, something that players of the saga have not liked.
When will we have the first trailer of Los Sims 5 (Project Rene)? Surely, EA has something important to present to us this summer, at its traditional gaming event. Is it optimistic to think of a launch by 2025?
