Creator BioShock Judas – Judas is a new FPS game developed and published by Ghost Story Games. For those who don't know, Ghost Story Games was formerly known as Irrational Games and was led by Ken Levine, who incidentally is the creator of the game BioShock.
Set on a spaceship called the Mayflower on its way to Proxima Centauri, this game centers on a group of people controlled by three people, namely Tom, Nefertiti and their adopted daughter, Hope. Players themselves take on the role of Judas, a character who challenges societal norms and sparks a revolution.
Lots of Latest Details on the Judas Game from the Creators of BioShock
In an interview with IGN, Ken Levine as Creative Director explained several elements that will be presented in the newest game. One of the newest things that was not present in Levine's previous games is the roguelike element.
Levine said that the game introduces a mechanism where the player's character will be “reprinted” every time they die. These mechanisms will offer opportunities for customization and evolution in the player's character, while ensuring that no two playthroughs are completely the same.
Inspired by games like XCOM and Civilization, Levine seeks to incorporate modular gameplay elements into the narrative framework of his latest game.
Takes a “Pseudo-Procedural” Approach to the Narrative
The implementation of this new mechanism allows the game to have a dynamic story and high replayability. Levine describes his latest game as a game with a “pseudo-procedural” approach to the narrative or story.
This means that the game has story elements that are built together through procedural means to create a cohesive single-player experience. Levine emphasizes the importance of player choice, highlighting how each decision the player makes, shapes the ongoing story in different ways.
He said that the game prioritizes player interaction and strategic decision making rather than providing “big action movie”-style scenes.
