FC Bayern recently gave Davies a kind of ultimatum. Sports director Max Eberl emphasized that the current offer would no longer be improved. “We made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no,” explained Eberl Sports picture.
The Davies side is now annoyed by the Bavarian strategy. “It's not fair that Alphonso is being attacked now. We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We then heard nothing for seven months. Although I tried to contact the club myself during this time “, says Davies advisor Nick Huoseh to the Bild.
The club is not in a position to give Davies an ultimatum. “Now we are given an ultimatum and are supposed to react within two weeks because the club is under pressure and took a long time to reposition itself in the management? That's not fair,” Huoseh continues to complain.
The reason for his client's hesitation is the still unresolved coaching question: “It's a very important contract in Alphonso's career and we're supposed to make the decision – without knowing who the coach will be next season or what the team looks like. We therefore believe it is unfair to react to the ultimatum and will decide at the end of the season how to proceed when there is more clarity.”
So Davies will let the ultimatum pass. If Bayern implement their announcement and do not present the Canadian with a new offer, the negotiations will have failed. Davies' current contract expires in summer 2025. Bayern are then faced with a decision: go into the last year of Davies' contract and let him leave for a free transfer or sell him this summer and collect another transfer fee.
The former is considered practically impossible. If Davies doesn't extend his contract, the Canadian should leave this summer.
