Historic ships Sail Kampen inspected and safe: skippers can leave shore

These were hectic and stressful weeks for a number of skippers who participate in Sail Kampen with their historic ships. The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) came up with stricter safety regulations this year. This is because a number of fatal accidents have recently occurred on traditional sailing ships. This made it extra exciting for the participants and organization of Sail Kampen this year to see whether all ships would pass inspection in time to participate in the event, which is expected to attract around 230,000 visitors.
