Presented at the last Mobile World Congress, it has not been until now when the striking Phanton V of Tecno has reached stores in much of the world. With a fairly obvious cover letter given its folding capabilities, the device aims to turn the heads of its suitors with a unique quality in phones of its class: a economical price.
A foldable for less than 600 euros
With a design mix between a Galaxy Z Flip and a Huawei Mate 50 Prothe Phantom V has a 1.32-inch circular screen on the outside which we will use to take a look at notifications and take selfies more comfortably. Placing a second screen is something that most foldable manufacturers include in their devices, especially those of the clamshell type.
In the case of this Phantom, the screen does not occupy the entire outer cover, but at least it offers an original circular design that gives a touch of style to the device. The total thickness of the closed device is 14.95 millimeters, while open it remains at 6.95 millimeters, a state in which it reveals its 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution.
The processor hidden inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 with one A78 core at 3 GHz, three A78 at 2.6 GHz and four A55 at 2 GHz, also including a Mali-G77 MP9 GPU. 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage complete the internal specifications.
At the camera level, we will find a 64-megapixel RGBW main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, and another 13-megapixel secondary wide-angle camera with 120 degrees of vision. Inside, on the main screen, a hole reveals a third 32 megapixel sensor with integrated LED.
Where can you buy it?
The Tecno Phantom V is currently only available in India, where it has arrived on the market with a price of 49,999 rupees (about 570 euros at the exchange rate). The device is expected to land in more markets soon, so it will be a matter of time before we see it a little closer.
Worth?
Looking at its specifications we see that it is a very interesting phone that could make things easier for those users who are obsessed with having a folding phone and do not want to spend too much money. However, we must remember that Motorola is offering on its official website the Moto RAZR 2022 con Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and with a price of 699 euroswhich does not seem like a bad option to us if we take into account the official guarantee and the availability of the product.
