Windows 11, without a doubt, is a versatile operating system that offers numerous functions and features to improve the user experience. But sometimes, you may encounter some challenges when working on your computer, such as the inability to delete a folder.
There are several reasons why a folder may be difficult to delete, and one of the main reasons is that the one you are trying to delete is an essential part of the system. In such cases, Windows blocks deletion to prevent potential performance and stability issues.
Another common cause is that the folder in question is being used by an application installed on your PC. In this case, both Windows 10 and Windows 11 bypass any changes while an app or program is running, which prevents its removal.
Fortunately, the Microsoft system allows you to install third-party tools to be able to execute actions that cannot be done natively. This way, if none of the above reasons are the cause of the problem, you can use one of the Four methods available to force deletion of a certain folder in Windows.
Method 1: Use Command Prompt

Method 2: Start Windows in safe mode

After downloading and installing, launch the app and select the folder you want to delete and click Accept. Then, on the next screen, choose Eliminate in the drop-down menu and then confirm the action. Unlocker will unlock and delete the folder. This is perhaps one of the easiest methods to carry out.
Method 4: Use WinRAR
WinRAR is also used to carry out this action. To do this, download the application from its website, then install and restart your computer. Having done the above, open the File Browser and find the folder you want to delete. Right click and select Add to file. 
In the window File name and parametersin the section Compression optionscheck the box Delete files after compression. Then click Accept and let WinRAR create an archive from the folder. This will delete the original folder. 
With these methods you can force deletion of folders in Windows 10 and 11 and free up space on your system.
