It wasn’t an easy moment being behind Locatelli when his bike started smoking
“Absolutely not! I had finally reached the two Yamahas and was preparing to fight with them when I saw smoke coming out of Andrea’s R1. Razgatlioglu did well to overtake him immediately and at that point I, who was a little further back, couldn’t help but slow down. There I lost the chance to compete with Toprak for second place, but beyond this I am satisfied with my weekend in which I demonstrated that I can constantly fight for the top positions.”
Why weren’t you able to stay with Yamaha from the start?
“At the start of the race I can’t push hard straight away because the front tire doesn’t allow me to. Only after a few laps can I start to increase my pace”
It’s a shame he wasn’t able to fight with Razgatlioglu
“He told me he was waiting for me. Yesterday you reached and overtook us – was her comment in the parc fermè – and therefore I expected to see you arrive today too. This is why I was saving the tires in anticipation of having to deal with you in the last laps”
Locatelli was unlucky
“I want to congratulate him who was having a great race. Maybe Toprak and I had a little more, but he was really good.”
