The words of the Italian after the Aragon GP
September 24, 2023
A difficult weekend
“Yes, it was another really, really difficult weekend. I have never been able to drive like I normally do. I didn’t have the slightest confidence with the front and every time I tried to be fast, the front closed and I risked falling. Every time, always. I still tried to get some good results and points for the classification but I worked hard and took a lot of risks.”
How many changes have you made to the bike?
“We changed a lot on the bike in an attempt to understand where the problem was, but nothing changed. Today when I saw that Jonny was in front of me and that I could catch him I tried, but it wasn’t possible. Seventh is not a result to throw away in these conditions, but I’m not racing to get seventh, but to fight with those in front.”
The absence of your Technical Chief also contributed to these difficulties
“Very very much. Without him I couldn’t explain to the guys on the team what my problems were. I hope he can be with us in Portimao, because without him it is really very difficult. To this we must add that we did not carry out the tests here at the end of August”
And what can you tell us about next year?
“Nothing… perhaps in Portimao we will be able to find out something more”
