Capcom confirms the release date and price of the Separate Ways DLC starring Ada Wong, as well as the VR mode and a free update for Resident Evil 4.
One of the best games of the year, Resident Evil 4 Remake, is about to receive new content. If you were left wanting more after its story or the Mercenaries mode, a mythical character from the saga returns very soon with his own adventure. It was one of the surprises of the State of Play.
If you remember, the original Resident Evil 4 told a parallel story to that of Leon S. Kennedy, starring the incombustible There’s Wongas a direct sequel to Resident Evil 2.
This content, called Separate Ways, will soon arrive in Resident Evil 4 Remake as DLC. We already know its release date, price and details (as well as images).
We will not only have this DLC. Resident Evil 4 is preparing for a new Mercenaries mode update, and This winter the VR mode will arrive to play on PS VR2 (only on PS5).
We review all the news announced yesterday by Capcom. Resident Evil 4 has been available since March on both PS5/PS4 and Xbox Series and PC consoles.
Ada Wong returns
First of all, the next September 21st paid DLC arrives Separate Waysstarring Ada Wong, which narrates the adventures of the intrepid Umbrella agent in parallel to Leon’s story.
This DLC will cost $9.99, and can be purchased in digital stores. It will be similar to the content that we already enjoyed in the original game, although with certain new features.
Ada Wong, after the events of Raccoon City in Resident Evil 2, will travel to the remote Castilian village to find the most precious treasure of The Cult.
He will also meet Leon, and we will see what position he takes in the investigation of our beloved police officer through the scenarios of Resident Evil 4. Separate Ways also incorporates characters such as Luis Serra or the legendary Albert Wesker.
The great playable novelty of the DLC is the grab gun. Not only does it allow us to attack enemies, but we can reach secret areas thanks to this new function from Ada Wong.
VR mode and Mercenaries update
On the occasion of the launch of Separate Ways, Capcom will release a free update for all players of Resident Evil 4 Remake. It will be available on the same day, September 21.
This update adds the characters of Ada Wong and Albert Wesker for Mercenaries mode. You don’t need to have Separate Ways to get these new features.
Capcom also revealed new details of the VR mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake. Its release date is located in next winterand can only be enjoyed on PS VR2 (the PS5 virtual reality headset).
Be careful, because VR mode is only compatible with the main campaign from Resident Evil 4 Remake (Mercenaries and Separate Ways not included). This is a big improvement over the VR modes in Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
Capcom has focused all its efforts on improving the use of weapons in this mode (especially the knife), and offering a more detailed look at the game’s scenarios, enemies and situations.
We remind you that the new PS Store offers (for Tokyo Game Show 2023) allow you to get Resident Evil 4 Remake at an unbeatable price (with 43% discount).
Resident Evil 4 Remake is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S y PC. All versions will receive the Separate Ways DLC and the Mercenaries mode update on September 21, while the VR mode is exclusive to PS5 (with PS VR2), and comes out this winter.
