Keijzer, who was appointed as mediator this spring at the request of Parliament, presented her report on September 1. In it, she makes recommendations for dealing with damage to homes after the canal was deepened and widened between 2011 and 2016. The BBB candidate for MP also has suggestions on how to restore residents’ confidence in the province. Overijssel drew up a compensation scheme for those affected, but there was much discussion and dissatisfaction about the implementation of that scheme.
