Operation Napoleon follows Kristin, a young Icelandic lawyer who, shortly before her brother disappears without a trace, receives some pixelated images in which she sees him near the wreckage of an old plane in the Icelandic ice. Before Kristin can fully understand the meaning of these startling images, she finds herself unexpectedly drawn into the vortex of an international conspiracy.
The remains found turn out to be from a German World War II plane that has been missing for decades, and its cargo is apparently so explosive that it attracts not only unscrupulous criminals, but also the attention of CIA deputy director William Carr, obsessed with secretly eliminate any information about the plane, and from German agent Simon, a cold-blooded killer.
They both try to eliminate Kristin as a supposed eyewitness, but despite being in grave danger and driven by concern for her brother, Kristin sets out on a journey determined to find the wreck and uncover the enigma of the glacier tomb.

Operation Napoleon is a gripping thriller, based on the novel of the same name by Icelandic crime master Arnaldur Indridason, from director Oskar Thor Axelsson who has triumphed at the Icelandic box office with films such as Black’s Game and I Remember You.
Operation Napoleon has a stellar cast, led by the Icelandic Vivian Olafsdottir, the true heroine of the film, and Iain Glen, better known as Dr. Alexander Isaacs in Resident Evil, Ser Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones or Batman in the Titans series.
The main cast is completed by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, who we have seen in True Detective, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald or The Incredible Life of Walter Mitty, Jack Fox, British actor belonging to the dynasty, star of the Sky Atlantic Riviera Breakthrough Series, and Wotan Wilke Möhring, known for having played Joe in the film The Experiment or Sergeant Kolbe in the North American film Valkyrie by director Bryan Singer.
Operation Napoleon has its origins within the Beta Cinema family, a German production and distribution company that holds 25 percent of Sagafilm, a Reykjavík-based production company that is primarily responsible for the film. The film is supported by the Icelandic Film Fund, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and Deutscher Filmförderfonds. German public television ZDF is also a co-producer and has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights.
Operation Napoleon is produced by Tinna Proppé and Hilmar Sigurðsson of Sagafilm in Iceland, along with Dirk Schweitzer and Anita Elsani of Splendid Entertainment in Germany. Kjartan Thor Thordarsson, Ralph Christians and Adalsteinn Jóhannsson serve as executive producers.
